The Sanitary Board has met with great regularity, twice a week, and discussion of the Public Health Bill has been very full and complete; but, as the Bill is a lengthy one, and has required great attention to details, and as, moreover, a wide variance of opinion has existed between the members of the Board with regard to the clauses affecting vested interests, the very protracted discussion of the Draft has been to some extent unavoidable. The Surveyor-General, who is Chairman of the Sanitary Board, however informs me that he hopes to present the Report of the Board together with the two Ordinances in about a fortnight.
